Looking for a new place for you and your pooch to go during the dog days of summer!? Sure there is the pet store, and even Home Depot allows dogs! But what if there was a place you could truly know your dog had the best time ever, and also have him or her have slightly less energy when you come home! A tired dog is a good dog! Why not try the dog park? Your dog will get to mingle with other dogs, get to know them and play with them. This is perfect for socialization for young pups and all dogs who like to meet and greet other dogs alike! Now here is an introduction to the parks near us here in Orlando.
Starting off we have The Lake Baldwin Park Located at 2000 S Lakemont Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789 -- this park was formally known as Fleet Peeples Park. This park features 23 dog friendly acres! Including a beach, pavilions, picnic areas, and even a boat ramp! Great for a dog who likes to get in the water and owners who like a relaxing scene!
The next stop is the Meadow Woods Dog Park 1751 Rhode Island Woods Cir, Orlando, FL 32824 This is a completely fenced in park which is great for of course letting your pup off leash if you are concerned about them running away from you. For small dogs and big dogs this park offers them the perfect off leash freedom to romp around and play. One of the best features is a small dog area which is separated from the big dog area so they can 'pick on someone their own size' so to speak. This park also has a bathing station for those pups that make a mess of themselves. It also has a picnic area for pet parents to enjoy!
After that we have Park of the Americas 201 Andes Ave, Orlando, FL 32807 This park is a favorite among many as it prominently features grass rather than mulch. The area is surrounded by a small lake and there is a picnic area as well as rest rooms available. It is very well maintained and not too crowded! It also has an area for small dog play as well as an area for big dog play which is always a bonus! There are drinking fountains for pets and their humans! There are abundant doggy bags and trash cans to clean up and a good time waiting for those who visit with their 4 legged best friend!
Barber Park is our next destination. 3701 Gatlin Ave, Orlando, FL 32812 This park has a smaller dog run than some but is still a great find. It is clean and well maintained. This park also boasts grass instead of mulch. There is a children's park as well. Please keep this in mind when bringing your furry friend if they aren't fond of children, other than that is a great place for your pup to run around with fellow dogs! This park also offers picnic facilities, sports fields, a hockey rink as well as a skate park! This is a great park with many things to do!
Moving on we have Barnett Park 4801 W Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32808 Very similar to a community center this park boasts trails, playgrounds, disc golf, basketball, and volleyball courts! It has a great fenced in dog park with grass, trees that supply a canopy of shade water, seats for pet parents and water fountains for the pups! It is generally not too crowded and gives your dog room to run free!
Our last park of this post is the Dr. P. Phillips Community Park 8249 Buenavista Woods Blvd, Orlando, FL This park is great for the people and dogs. Like Barnett Park it includes sports fields, and classic playgrounds. This park also has a SPLASH playground to cool off! The dog run is spacious and dogs of all sizes can play inside! Bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic while your dog has a great time playing with other dogs!
These are a few of the dog parks in the area! If you have time I recommend checking them all out so you can see which one works best for you!

Have you ever felt like you have to choose between having a pet and having a nice carpet? It’s true that furry friends can sometimes create a big mess and that pet stains are quite difficult to treat. However, there are a few simple rules you can follow to keep you carpets free of odor, stains and hair. The following guide is created especially for pet owners that enjoy order and cleanliness.
Removing Wet Messes
Many pet owners make the mistake of trying to soak the liquid stain on the carpet with rags or paper towels. This method is ineffective because it only helps remove the surface spot while the rest gets pushed deeper in the fabric, creating a stubborn stain.
Instead of trying to absorb those stains with towels, you can buy a handheld extractor that can easily suck liquids from the carpet. The handheld extractor is a smart investment as it is compact, easy to clean, and more effective on rugs than a vacuum cleaner.
When it comes to dealing with the smell in addition to the stain, bio-enzymatic cleaning products are the most effective ones. Apply them on the spot and you will get rid of any unpleasant odor.
Other Kinds of Stains
Pet poop can leave really unpleasant stains on the carpet. When it comes to dealing with solid waste, you’ll need to adopt a somewhat different strategy. The best tool for removing solid messes is a putty knife. You can use it to scrape the waste into a dustpan. The putty knife is a better solution than rags because rags only smudge and force the mess into the carpet.
Bio-enzymatic cleaners are appropriate for the solid spots, as well. You should leave the cleaner sit on the carpet for 45 minutes before cleaning up the solids with the putty knife.
Another great option is to use a carpet cleaning machine. This is fast and easy, but you will have to spend more money. Totally worth it if it happens regularly. Here is a list of the best carpet cleaners for pet stains.
The Right Cleaning Products (can be DIY)
Buying the right products is crucial for keeping your carpets clean from pet stains and odors. Home-made solutions such as baking soda or vinegar can also be used to treat carpets and restore their fresh scent
Other ingredients you can use to make carpet cleaning solutions include dish detergent, lemon, borax and cornstarch (it is an excellent possibility for absorbing liquids).
Pets are a lot of fun but you already know what kinds of messes they’re capable of producing. Don’t worry about carpet stains and treat those immediately. The sooner you get started, the more satisfactory the results are going to be.
